Marketing Junto - Networking Is Key To Business Growth

I've always been a networker. It's probably in my genes. I like meeting new people and finding out more about what they do and their story.

Lately I've been going to networking happy hours and events in the physical world. I have to say it's a whole other dynamic when you're talking to people face-to-face in the real world vs through Zoom et al.

Both have their advantages. One has significantly less traffic, that's for sure. 😜 But either way networking and connecting with people is the key to business growth. It's a long game.

It's about the relationship building, often times you're see the same people over and over at events and won't work together on a project for months, if ever. But when you do get a chance to work on a project or get referred by them to another colleague, it's so much better than cold calling/prospecting, in my opinion. It's a warm intro and the ice-breaking is slightly less thick.

Over the years, I've grown Goldstein Media's book of business solely on word of mouth and networking either online or at in person events.

  The trial has been eye opening. Lots of internal info has come out and the more transparency, though forced, has been fascinating.
• Did Google really lose search market share to Microsoft Bing in April?
  Not surprised. With ChatGPT running on Bing, I can see this happening.
• Anthropic's Claude Team account vs. ChatGPT's Team account. A comparison.
  A good run through of the differences.
• Most Americans see TikTok as a Chinese influence tool, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds
  If this is the case forcing a sale or banning the platform might be a good move.
• Google SGE AI Answers Now Cost 80% Less To Generate
  Well that's a good thing. Still probably generates quite a bit of excess though.
• Google Recrawls URLs At Different Rates: Multiple Times Per Day To Every Few Months
  Good to know and makes sense.
• Rabbit R1 review: nothing to see here
  I agree with the author of the review. The Rabbit R1 is a gadget in search of a problem to fix that doesn't exist.
• Report: OpenAI To Launch Search Engine
  It was bound to happen! I'm interested to see how it turns out!
• Jack Dorsey says he’s no longer on Bluesky’s board
  Though he's still listed as being on the board. Regardless having Bluesky completely separate from any Twitter-association might be a good thing.
• YouTube Premium members can 'skip ahead' to the good bits with new feature now available
  This is a cool feature and will help lots of searchers find what they're looking for especially in those DIY-help videos where the person explaining stuff rambles too much.
• You can now connect the AT-Protocol to the Fediverse and vice versa
  This is great news for those on both sides of the "bridge" to interoperate and communicate.
