Starter Story - how i made 100 friends in 100 days

When I moved to NYC, I wanted to learn how to play tennis.

But I was poor and had nobody to play with :(

I googled “tennis club new york city” and my jaw dropped:

$100/hr to play tennis??

Then I heard about public courts on the Westside highway, but that was even more intimidating!

Do I just show up? Who will play with me?

It all felt scary, so I just decided to give up on the whole thing…

A few weeks later, I overheard a friend of a friend randomly mention that he’d been playing tennis on those public courts.

I had to work up the courage to ask:

Mind if I join?

To my surprise, he said yes!

So we met up and played! (l lost lol)

While we hung around the tennis courts, I ended up meeting a cute girl who was also learning how to play.

So we set up a time to play the following week.

Now I had... 2 tennis friends.

(that was more progress than i could have ever imagined)

Then, after showing up a few more times, I met another guy and his friend.

We all exchanged numbers and started playing and the circle just kept expanding from there.

Every day, I was adding numbers into my phone and meeting new people from around the world.

I'd get dozens of texts every day from people who wanted to play - more people than I even had time for!

In about 100 days I had made what felt like 100 friends :)

This is such a silly example, but I share it to show you that good things takes time.

In the beginning, I felt scared and hopeless and didn’t know where to start.

But by showing up every day, I built this little tennis community, made over 100 friends, and had endless opportunities to play.

The same is true when starting a business.

You start out, alone and vulnerable and scared.

You don't know where to begin.

And because of this, you quit.

But what if you approached it differently?

By instead taking small, consistent steps every day.

I built a $1M business off this very philosophy.
