I had always asked myself this question since high school:

Will I ever become a millionaire?

Until I was in my 20s, when I created a simple spreadsheet to help me predict when I’d have a Milly in the bank.

Before I made this spreadsheet, I was super anxious about money in general.

I was basically living paycheck to paycheck and just hoping that something would change.

I was working hard, but whenever I checked my account, the number wasn’t moving fast enough!

I wanted things to change overnight.

I wanted to be a millionaire... right now!!!

Wrong.

By studying this spreadsheet, I learned one thing:

Building wealth takes time.

You have to think in years or decades.

This spreadsheet helped me see the numbers laid out in the long run.

And understanding these numbers made me less anxious, and more at ease.

Because I understood the math on how to get there.

The biggest lever you can pull is income.

A 9-5 might give me a 2% raise each year.

But a business or a side hustle can grow 5%, 10%, 50% each year!
