Turbulent Flight Kills 1, Injures 70

Severe turbulence on a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore left one passenger dead and 71 injured, some severely, after the plane fell nearly 6,000 feet in minutes.

Airline officials said it was likely the 73-year-old British man who died had a heart condition. At least six other passengers were hospitalized in Thailand, where the plane made an emergency landing. Here are photos of the plane's interior posted to X.

The Boeing 777-300ER was cruising at 37,000 feet when it hit “sudden extreme turbulence,” launching any passengers who weren’t wearing seat belts into the ceiling, with some heads denting or breaking the overhead cabins.

Nestle Targets Weight-Loss Drugs

Nestle, the world’s biggest food company, is launching a new line of frozen pizza and pasta dishes aimed specifically at customers who take popular weight-loss drugs such as Wegovy or Ozempic.

The company said it was adding more protein, fiber, iron, and calcium and shrinking the portions of the new food line to provide “food solutions” for people who no longer have much of an appetite to eat at all.

The drugs’ effectiveness in killing appetite has worried food retailers who fear sales will fall. Nestle’s 12 new targeted food products, including whole grain bowls and sandwich melts, are expected to hit stores nationwide toward the end of the year.

The publication selected 150 major cities across the country and ranked them according to their job market, desirability, quality of life, and city value. The results indicated that the best cities to live in are mostly in the South and the Midwest.

Naples was able to edge out other cities due to its Florida beachfront location, low unemployment, and outdoor recreational options.
