Here's 9 tips on how I've been able to spent much less time in my email inbox:

1. I use Superhuman: I've been a customer for a year now, and honestly - it's one of the best pieces of software I've ever used (not a compliment I throw around lightly...)
2. I auto-categorise emails: e.g. if an email contains "meeting" or "zoom" it automatically goes into a folder called "Meetings". Superhuman calls this "split inbox".
3. I ruthlessly unsubscribe: I get rid of clutter from my inbox by using unroll.me to mass unsubscribe from newsletters / spam in 1-click.
4. I use Calendly: setting up meetings typically takes a significant amount of time, but with Calendly, people can book a time which suits them.
5. I disabled notifications: it's rare that an email needs an instant response - so I disabled notifications and only "go to email" when I am ready. Notifications = productivity killer.
6. I use automated followups: if I need to follow up with someone in 3 days, I press "H" on an email in Superhuman and in 3 days... it reminds me.
7. I don't use my mouse: in Superhuman you use keyword shortcuts. Mouse = slow, keyboard = fast.
8. I batch process: I don't reply to emails as they come in, I do them in "one go".
9. I use email templates: most of my emails contain some templated response e.g. a company wants added to the site, I'm doing cold outreach etc. In Superhuman I create "snippets" i.e. email templates I send frequently.
