The Amazon-owned video platform is announcing music licensing deals with all three major labels plus Merlin.

According to the independent sector’s digital music licensing partner, the aim is to “find and empower the next generation of music monetisation opportunities for Merlin’s membership of independent record labels, distributors, and other rights holders”. 

Discord adds live-radio features via partnership with TuneIn

Discord’s latest move into audio is a partnership with radio platform TuneIn. It will see the latter bring a “curated selection of music, news, sport and podcasts” to Discord via one of the latter’s ‘activity’ add-ons.

Pex publishes its latest report on 'manipulated' UGC songs

Staccs expands Samsung TV Plus partnership with two new channels

Swedish tech start-up Staccs, a free ad-supported television company, has expanded its partnership with Samsung TV Plus with the addition of new music channels. 

Following the launch of Staccs TV in the UK, Spain and Italy earlier this year, two additional channels are being launched – Staccs TV Throwback and Staccs TV Celebrate, available to UK viewers on Samsung TV Plus from June 13.

Stability AI releases a sound generator

Called Stable Audio Open, the generative model takes a text description (e.g. “Rock beat played in a treated studio, session drumming on an acoustic kit”) and outputs a recording up to 47 seconds in length. The model was trained using around 486,000 samples from free music libraries FreeSound and the Free Music Archive.

Hal Leonard Launches MuseClass

One notable MuseClass feature is AutoGrade, the AI-powered practice tool. This pioneering technology listens to a student’s performance and provides immediate feedback on timing and pitch, even for polyphonic instruments like piano or guitar. The tool can inspire students to repeat their practice sessions, or a teacher can set an AutoGrade challenge as an assignment.
