If you’re a homeowner, here’s some good news: Home equity values are going, erm, through the roof. We recently reported on this trend, citing cities like Nashville that are having a home-equity moment right now, as well as the $17 million record high the U.S. just hit. It’s easy to forget that equity, along with other investments, is part of a rounded portfolio — perhaps because we can’t exactly see those numbers like we can in our banking apps. But it’s there! Take a moment and do a quick calculation of where you fall on the home equity front.

This week, the latest jobs report showed that the U.S. added 272,000 jobs last month, which could delay the Federal Reserve’s first interest-rate cut a bit more. “I think if they're going to cut, it's going to have to be November or late December,” Lara Rhame, chief economist for FS Investments, told Money recently.
