Issue 323 - Sneak peek at new Tesla's Model Y

FSD

FSD (supervised) v12.4.3 rolling out to select Tesla customers
Tesla is starting to roll out the Full Self-Driving (Supervised) V12.4.3 to certain customers, including one of our Teslas. I can say that not having to touch the steering wheel at all is a big game changer; before, I found myself disengaging more frequently and having less patience with FSD, while now I let the car do more, always paying attention and ready to take over if needed. My only complaint is that I would like to still wear my sunglasses when doing that.

Hardware Updates

Quicksilver color now available for Model 3 in Europe ðŸ“·
The awesome Quicksilver color option has finally made its way to Europe for the Tesla Model 3, sparking excitement and a bit of envy among the Reddit community, especially from those in the US hoping for the same option.

Tesla enhancing Cybertruck efficiency and reliability
Tesla is performing complimentary upgrades of the drive units in select Cybertrucks to boost efficiency and reliability, as revealed by Out of Spec's Kyle Conner. Although not a response to a specific defect, the replacement of early drive units during routine service visits has resolved owner-reported vibrations and altered driving characteristics, such as increased regenerative braking and changed acceleration profiles. It is interesting that Tesla is replacing these without responding to a specific defect, but let's ignore that for now ðŸ˜€

Incentives

Free supercharging for 3 months with Tesla delivery by August 15, 2024
Tesla's latest offer includes 3 months of free Supercharging for anyone who takes delivery of a new Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model S, or Model X by August 15, 2024. The deal is sweetening the pot for new Tesla customers in the U.S. and Canada, regardless of when they placed their order.

Prototypes

Sneak peek at Tesla's Model Y 'Project Juniper' for 2025 📷
An early glimpse of Tesla's Model Y, codenamed 'Project Juniper,' reveals the likely inclusion of a front bumper camera, aligning it with the Cybertruck's design. Anticipated first in China with a 2025 launch, the new model could feature Hardware 5 sensors and boast a host of upgrades.

Tesla Model 3 mule spotted with new cameras pre-robotaxi unveil 📷
A Tesla Model 3 test vehicle, or 'mule,' rigged with distinctive cameras on the front and rear bumpers, as well as the B-pillars, has been seen in Northern California just weeks before Tesla's anticipated Robotaxi event on August 8th.

Community

X takeover: A gathering for Tesla and SpaceX fans
Gear up for this month's exciting X Takeover event, expanding its embrace to include Tesla and SpaceX enthusiasts alike, taking place in San Luis Obispo, California, from July 26-28. With a lineup brimming with group rides, live shows, and keynote speakers such as Tesla's Franz von Holzhausen and SpaceX-affiliated astronaut Jared Isaacman, it's set to be a weekend of innovative thrills.

Tesla ad highlights owner saving 94% on electricity with EV and Powerwall 📹
In a compelling ad, Tesla showcases an Australian customer, Nathan, who achieved a staggering 94% savings on his electricity bill by using Tesla Powerwalls along with his EVs for personal and ride-sharing business. Nathan's setup includes solar panels and multiple Powerwalls, and he takes advantage of Tesla's Charge on Solar feature to maintain his fleet of vehicles. As Tesla diversifies its marketing strategy with more traditional ads, it's clear that these real-life stories are both impressive and powerful testimonials for Tesla's integrated energy solutions.

🤓 What the acronym
As a Tesla fan, I find myself sometimes having to remember what are all those acronyms, here is a list of the ones you can find in this issue.
  • EV: Electric Vehicle
  • FSD: Full Self-Driving
