Today’s best deals under $100

Welcome to the second (and final) day of Prime Day, Amazon’s concocted shopping-palooza. Our experts have been vetting the avalanche of deals still swirling around and we’ve got a crop of great new ones to recommend, many of them under $100.

What are we most excited about today? A pair of upscale sandals, an elegant French press, and a pretty pillbox, to name a few. Oh, and yes, jeans. More on those—and the deal that’s been baffling your newsletter editors for days—below.

We love these under-$100 deals→

Some of our favorite jeans are on sale

To find the absolute best, we researched hundreds of pairs of jeans and tested 43—suffering through gaping waistbands, comical lengths, sagging bottoms, and more. We came away with six fantastic favorites, three (!) of which are on sale today.

Plus: Levi’s Premium Wedgies were “an across-the-board hit” with our testers. Here’s how to find your perfect fit.

  • The best way to determine your sizing is to measure the smallest part of your waist and the fullest part of your hips, and then consult the online size guide.
  • As for length: We recommend choosing an inseam that allows the jeans to hit at your ankle, which will offer the most flattering silhouette and pair nicely with almost any kind of shoe.
  • Consider ordering a few pairs in different sizes and then returning (for free) the ones you don’t want.
  • If you want a goes-with-everything pair, the Christina wash is probably your best bet. For something dressier, cheat a formal-pants look with the Black Sprout wash.

More for your consideration this fine Prime Day

Plus: Don’t get that viral clothing press. This on-sale steamer works much better.

The Nori Press laundry aid that has been haunting our social feeds—and perhaps yours, too—claims to be a steamer and iron in one. But in our rigorous testing, it paled in comparison to both. It was uncomfortable to hold and frustrating to maneuver. As an iron, it was slow and mediocre; as a steamer, it was rather pitiful.

Happily, a cute and compact travel steamer we do love is on sale today. We think it’s everything a portable steamer should be: super-packable, decently priced, and hearty enough to knock out small jobs. And unlike the Nori, it won’t leak or spit water all over your clothes.

One last thing: Why are y’all so into this bag hanger? Do we need one?

Your newsletter editors were a little perplexed at first, but your overwhelming interest in this on-sale bag hanger has convinced us that we, too, deserve to never again let our bags touch the floor.

This round, metal carabiner unfolds into a hook for your purse (or coat, or umbrella). Our experts like that it works with different types of surfaces, from a table edge, to the top of a bathroom-stall door, to a handrail at a park.
