On July 18, 2024, CrowdStrike released a update with a bug that significantly impacted Windows machines globally, including virtual machines (VMs) running on multiple cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. The problem originated from an update to the CrowdStrike Falcon agent, which led to unresponsiveness, blue screens (BSOD) and startup failures on Windows machines. This incident has had a considerable impact, prompting a series of responses and recommendations from both Microsoft and CrowdStrike to mitigate the damage and assist affected customers.

I have written up an article that explores details about the CrowdStrike outage, including Microsoft recommendations, a look at the potential global cost, importance of disaster recovery (DR), and a look at Windows Kernel Mode drivers versus User Mode drivers and if this could have been prevented.

Choosing the right database solution is critical for the performance and scalability of your applications. When working with NoSQL, Table data and Microsoft Azure, two prominent options for table storage are Azure Cosmos DB for Table and Azure Table Storage (aka Azure Storage Tables). Both services provide robust solutions for storing semi-structured table data, but they cater to different needs and use cases. This article provides a comparison of these two services to help you make an informed decision as to which is best for your application and database needs.

This article explains what Azure Private Link is, exploring its components, benefits, and deployment strategies. The article also explains the steps to configuring Azure Storage Account security using Azure Private Link with HashiCorp Terraform infrastructure as code (IaC). By the end of this article, you will have a comprehensive understanding of Azure Private Link and be equipped with the knowledge to deploy it effectively using Terraform in your own cloud environments.
