4 Day Week - 4 Companies with a 4 Day Week 🔥

Before we get to the companies...

Here's something I've found odd since I was a child:

Why do (most) jobs start at the same time? e.g. everyone starting at 9am

If we had more control over when we start work, it would be better for the:

Planet

Rush hour traffic would decrease.

If we could choose to start any time between, say 6am and 12pm, we'd "flatten the (traffic) curve"... which means:

• Quieter roads
• Lower carbon emissions (less stopping and starting)
• Better air quality (which consequently saves lives)

Individual

Employees would therefore spent less time commuting... which means:

• More sleep (less commuting = more time in bed)
• Happier employees (my work commutes have been a source of stress in the past - "ahh I'm going to be late")
• Better work-life balance (more time to do other things)
• Healthier employees (less time sitting in a car)

Company

And when employees are happier and healthier, this has many effects:

• Increased productivity
• Higher employee satisfaction
• Reduced absenteeism
• Lower staff turnover (I basically left one of my previous jobs because I was tired of my 3hr commute)
• And more...

Now obviously, this doesn't work for every job / scenario...

But it does for a huge percentage (most office jobs can work asynchronously)

I'd love to see a world where I could just "do my work"... instead of being told when I need to wake, commute, work and sleep 👎
