Will you donate $5 to investigate Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito?

Far too many media outlets still portray the Supreme Court as a sacred temple of jurisprudence, clinging to the myth of a court above politics and corruption.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has now filed articles of impeachment against Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito, citing millions in undisclosed gifts from right-wing billionaires and their failure to recuse themselves from cases where they have conflicts of interest.

Most major news outlets have dismissed AOC’s push to impeach Thomas and Alito as a nonstory, a fever dream of the left wing not to be taken seriously.

We believe that’s a mistake — and the news media needs to stop treating the Supreme Court with kid gloves.

It ought to be a front-page national scandal that far-right extremists have hijacked the court to advance a deeply undemocratic and unpopular agenda. That’s why The Intercept is continuing to investigate the deep pockets behind this billionaire-backed putsch — but we rely on reader support to keep digging.

If you want The Intercept to continue investigating Supreme Court corruption, please donate $5 today.

Not The Intercept.

Our team has been digging deep to expose the web of dark-money donors and lobbyists, like Leonard Leo, who have engineered the right-wing takeover of the Supreme Court and continue to push their far-right agenda through lawsuits, amicus briefs, and massive donations to law schools. And the more we dig, the worse it gets.

We’re continuing to track down leads and follow the money to uncover the full extent of the justices’ corruption — and your donations are a vital source of revenue for our nonprofit newsroom.

So if you value the hard-hitting investigative reporting of The Intercept, please donate $5 today.
