- Let’s Learn WP-CLI… command-line interface for WordPress, WP-CLI,
can be overwhelming for many users. Milana Cap has published a detailed article on understanding and using WP CLI commands in your WordPress routines.
- Core Update… WordPress 6.6.2 maintenance release is now available,
which includes 15 bug fixes in Core and 11 in the Block Editor. The
next major release will be WordPress 6.7 version, scheduled for November
12, 2024.
- Gutenberg Update… with 19.2v update of Gutenberg the Block Bindings UI
has moved out of its experimental phase. This update also introduces an
experimental feature for processing media client-side, reducing server
load and enhancing performance.
- WooCommerce Release… 9.3.1v of WooCommerce has been released and it disables the remote error logging feature. This feature will make a comeback in WooCommerce 9.4 after addressing conflicts.
- WordPress Health Dashboards… Hari Shanker shared about the experiment endeavor of WordPress Contribution Health Dashboards with one view snapshot of performance for informed decision making.
- Plugin Rebranding… Really Simple SSL, a popular SSL WordPress plugin with 5 million installs, has rebranded to Really Simple Security to reflect the plugin’s evolution from a simple SSL configuration tool to an extensive WordPress security solution.

WP Security Survey 2024… 2FA & No Auto-Updates
The team at Melapress has published 2024 edition statistics
of the WordPress security survey. Among WordPress users, the two-factor
(2F) authentication is the most widely adopted security measure. Using
security plugins is the preferred method for securing WordPress
websites.
Interestingly, 41% of folks do not enforce any password policies
whatsoever. Over 70% do not have auto updates enabled for theme and
plugin updates. Also, over 55% of folks outsource security management to
third party entities.
The State of Headless… 2024 findings
Over 1,015 chief technology officers across the U.S., UK, and Australia were surveyed for ‘The State of Headless‘,
commissioned by WP Engine. 79% of organizations already using headless
rate their ability to scale as good, compared to 62% of organizations
that have yet to adopt headless.
90% of businesses that have adopted Headless say their company is
effective at managing organizational change, compared to 76% of
businesses that have not made the switch. However, only 28% say – that
their organization’s projects are leveraging a headless technology
approach with its website(s) or web apps.
