Power BI Weekly #276 - 20th September 2024

Power BI Weekly Newsletter Issue #276

powered by endjin

Welcome to the (belated) 276th edition of Power BI Weekly! Sorry for the delay for this edition - a combination of vacation and general busyness has pushed this edition back a few days. But it's hopefully going to have been worth the wait - there's a lot of great content this week. The one and only announcement this week is the On-premises data gateway September 2024 Release, which has the exciting update that the Fabric Pipeline integration is now GA (and therefore ready for your Production workloads!) Elsewhere this week, Marc Lelijveld has written a really handy blog around Purchasing Fabric Capacities as Reserved Instance (relevant for Power BI admins too) which may seem a little daunting for those new to this pricing model. Andre Fomin has performed an interesting comparison on Microsoft Fabric AI Skills vs. Copilot: Which GenAI Gives You the Best Answers?, trying similar queries on both tools to compare. And on a similar theme, Andrzej Leszkiewicz has demonstrated a custom AI Assistant for Tabular Editor to perform model-metadata tasks (such as adding comments to measures). Finally, Parul Sagar has reminded us of the potential power of Interactive Dialogue with Power BI’s Q&A Tool, showing some elements of how it can be fine-tuned (such as by adding synonyms).
