Over the last two weeks, Israel has launched a ferocious new assault in northern Gaza, targeting hospitals, schools, and apartment buildings while killing hundreds.

There were hopes for a ceasefire in Gaza after Israeli forces killed Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader and architect of the October 7, 2023, attacks.

Instead, over the last two weeks, Israel has launched a ferocious new assault in northern Gaza, targeting hospitals, schools, and apartment buildings while killing hundreds. Then, Israel attacked Iran and banned the main United Nations agency responsible for providing lifesaving humanitarian aid to Palestinians trapped in Gaza.

It’s clear that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not stop attacking Israel’s neighbors unless and until the U.S. stops providing the unlimited supply of weapons that is enabling the slaughter.

Yet The Intercept remains one of the few U.S. outlets willing to challenge the pro-Israel consensus that dominates most major news media coverage — and as a nonprofit news outlet, we rely on donations from readers to power our reporting.

Will you donate $5 to enable The Intercept’s ongoing reporting on Israel’s war on Gaza and Lebanon?

At least 114,000 people have been killed since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza — a majority women and children — according to a study published earlier this month by researchers at Brown University.

Over 90 percent of the population of Gaza has been displaced. Famine is widespread. The health care infrastructure has been almost completely annihilated.

Meanwhile, foreign journalists have been banned from entering Gaza for months, and the Committee to Protect Journalists reports that at least 134 journalists have been killed in Gaza, Lebanon, and the West Bank since the war began.

The Intercept is teaming up with freelance journalists on the ground and partnering with Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism to keep shining a bright light on the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and expose the killing of journalists by Israeli forces.

But your donations are absolutely vital to support this reporting, which simply would not happen if The Intercept didn’t exist.

Will you donate $5 to The Intercept and help support our investigative reporting on Israel’s war in Gaza?
