Block Binding Values… the functionality to bind block attributes to custom fields directly from the Block Editor will be possible out of the box in WordPress 6.7, which is scheduled for release on November 12, 2024.

Inline Commenting… check the first and experimental version for inline commenting that is brewing for the WordPress core. This was from Pooja Bhimani, developer and project manager at Mulidots, shared via Birgit Pauli-Haack over at Gutenberg Times.

Matt vs WP Engine: Latest Updates

Automattic has published details of its legal response to WP Engine’s complaint. “Automattic and Matt have filed three separate documents today, including: Motion to Dismiss WP Engine’s Complaint, Motion to Strike (under anti-SLAPP law), and Opposition to the Preliminary Injunction”.

Matt at TechCrunch Disrupt… the latest interview in which Matt talks about the ongoing case with WP Engine. Also, he said “company was short-staffed after the exodus of 159 employees, who took a six-month severance offer earlier that month”.

PMP Leaving WordPress Org and a Threat!

Jason Coleman explained in detail why the Paid Memberships Pro plugin free listing is leaving WordPress Org and how it affects existing users. The community had its focus on private communication between Matt and Jason.

“Two days after we closed the Paid Memberships Pro listing in the .org repository, Matt sent a direct message to me (Jason) on the WordPress.org Slack Workspace threatening to… take over your listing and make it a community plugin like we did to ACF”.
