Forbes - 100,000 U.S. Deaths

Today is a somber milestone in the coronavirus pandemic: 100,000 Americans have officially succumbed to the virus in the past three months. This horrible number makes the question of when we will have a vaccine feel even more urgent. Dr. Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases shared an encouraging idea today: a vaccine could be available as early as November of this year. Not all experts agree with this aggressive timeline, however, which would be the fastest vaccine production in world history. Plus, once a vaccine is actually made there’s another question: who will take it? American distrust in government and science has been heightened during the pandemic, and a new poll shows that just half of Americans would actually get a vaccine against coronavirus if it was available.
