MIDDI - 2024 Fashion Gift Guide
In search of the finer things in life — because the finest ones still cost too much.As we become more socially conscious shoppers, mid-priced fashion has not only gotten more popular — it's gotten better. The demand is there for an equally sustainable and luxe experience without the hefty price tag. I'm all for it. For this year's fashion gift guide, I wanted to include three options that suit different budgets and also get high marks for quality and design. They make excellent choices for the people in your life who love the finer details but still appreciate a good bargain. You can read this year’s beauty picks here — now, onto the picks. I’ve worn these gold hoops from Mejuri pretty much nonstop since I previously shared them in this edition. With their classic, minimal design, they work with every outfit or accessory and still look as great as the day I bought them. Mejuri sells a range of hoops in different metals and sizes, making them a versatile and beautiful gift the recipient is sure to enjoy for years to come. Best of all, pairs start at just £38, so you can start a collection of your own, too. I’ve long been a fan of British-born designer Anya Hindmarch, but most of her quirky items are pretty spendy. When I found out she did a collaboration with Uniqlo, one of my go-to shops for basics (see here and here), I rushed to my nearest location. The collection includes a variety of knitwear, including sweaters, scarves, hats and socks for women and kids, all featuring her signature googly eyes. The smaller items, in particular, make excellent stocking stuffers. The abundance of gorgeous, mid-priced bags may be my favorite “trend” of late. There are so many elegant styles to choose from that utilize the same materials as brands that charge three and four times the amount. One brand on my wish list is DeMellier London, which was started by LVMH alum Mireia Llusia-Lindh. I have my eye on the New York tote in this rich burgundy (£495). To sweeten the deal, for every bag sold, they make a donation to fund vaccines and medical treatments for children. In case you missed it … MIDDI is a weekly newsletter highlighting the best mid-priced beauty, fashion and home buys written by a millennial with a (somewhat under control) shopping problem.
