You may know that Parkinson's Law states:

Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.

But here's another way of looking at it:

Projects without deadlines take a lot longer than they need to.

Us humans... we need deadlines - it helps us get things done.

And in some ways, the 5 day work week is a deadline - things need to get done before Friday.

This "deadline" is a forcing function for output.

But do you know what's a better deadline?

The 4 day work week.

It may seem silly - but artificially making the workweek shorter, makes us work faster.
