Dear readers,

You might be wondering what prompted this very unusual afternoon email from the Tangle team.

Today, we’re writing to remind you about our partnership with the global news organization GlobalPost. For the last five years, one of the most frequent questions we get is, “Do you do Tangle for country X?” or “Can you cover more international news?”

Since we are a small team that focuses mostly on U.S. politics, the answer is — unfortunately — no. At least not yet. While we do cover some international issues, we usually only do it when we can connect it to U.S. politics.

That’s why we partner with the international news service GlobalPost (formerly DailyChatter). As part of that partnership, we write a dedicated email once a year to readers asking you to become GlobalPost members (if you are already a member of GlobalPost, you can safely ignore this email). And once a year, they share Tangle with their subscribers.

Like Tangle, GlobalPost is independent, founded by a journalist who values fairness, and written in a reliably non-partisan voice. Simply put, it's the best place I know of to get international news; also like Tangle, it's released every weekday as a newsletter.

In the over five years of Tangle, GlobalPost is only our second partner. We hope that speaks to our trust in them, and our confidence that you'll find the kind of news there you come to expect from Tangle.

One note: GlobalPost’s business model is a little different than ours. They are a paid service that runs free trials. That means you can read it for free for 2 weeks, but then you'll be asked to subscribe for just $46 per year. As a testament to how good the product is, consider this: More than 80% of all their users who start a free trial stay on as paid subscribers.

So, if you’re interested in premium international news coverage, go support GlobalPost. Give it a shot, see if you like it, let us know what you think, and open up your news diet beyond the U.S. borders.

Happy reading!

Best,

Isaac & the Tangle team
