Tech cos haven’t been immune to Covid-19-related layoffs. 

Unsurprisingly, transportation, travel, and retail tech cos saw the most employee layoffs since March 11, due to global shelter-in-place orders. Uber cut a staggering 6,700 jobs from its workforce. 

But the industry that was hit the most at the company level is finance, and that difference is even further exaggerated outside of the US. One e-commerce payments processor laid off 1,300 people in May.
