Forbes - Another Black CEO Is Gone

Morning Banter

And then there were four.

Jide Zeitlin, the former chief executive of luxury fashion retailer Tapestry and one of just five Black Fortune 500 CEOs, resigned on Tuesday amid a probe into sexual misconduct allegations.

Zeitlin, who served on the company's board for 14 years, was accused of posing as a photographer and luring a woman into a romantic relationship more than ten years ago.

The former executive defended himself in a LinkedIn post, stating, “I made a mistake in having a relationship with this woman and I dealt with that in my personal life at the time...I cannot allow these allegations to be weaponized against me.”

His resignation leaves just a handful of black CEOs at the helm of some of the largest corporations in the U.S.
