Alibaba-backed XPeng is the
latest Chinese electric-vehicle maker to eye a U.S. listing—this time on the NYSE. The move comes after the June 30 Nasdaq listing of Li Auto, which raised $1.1 billion and whose shares have soared.

The much-hyped $765 million U.S. loan to turn Eastman Kodak into a pharmaceutical maker is on hold, unless it can clear up “serious concerns”—reportedly sparked by a big jump in Kodak’s stock price and a stock deal for top executives.

Disney is cutting back visiting hours for all four of its theme parks, the announcement coming just days after the Walt Disney Company said it lost $2 billion due to coronavirus shutdowns at the company's parks. Crowds have been smaller than expected since reopening last month.

Childcare obligations are among the most significant factors women consider when deciding whether to run for office. Today's Must-Read

With no vaccine and no proven treatment for the coronavirus, we’re left with  non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) to prevent the transmission of the virus that has resulted in more than 731,000 deaths around the world—some 163,000 in the U.S. alone. These include social distancing, hand hygiene, disinfection and wearing face masks or coverings.

Organized by the WHO, CDC, Google, Global Citizen and 40+ other partners to encourage the use of face coverings in public, it’s World Mask Week. That includes social media campaigns such as the #WearAMask challenge. One of the goals is to counter the myths circulating about masks. Here are some of the top misconceptions about face coverings:

1. Masks don’t work. The science is straightforward. When you or others are infectious with the virus, it can come out of the nose and mouth. Masks reduce your chances of infecting someone else or reduce the amount of the virus transmitted to you.

2. Requiring masks violates your constitutional rights. A mask doesn’t violate the First Amendment by keeping you from expressing yourself, nor violate rights to privacy, health or body integrity, as determined by the Supreme Court.

3. Wearing a face mask is toxic. Surgeons and other medical professionals have long worn face coverings to prevent the spread of infections without passing out or experiencing other medical issues.
