Top 5 potential venture scale products from Product Hunt last week
Smappy - Use augmented reality to control 3D characters and play games designed specifically to make you smile and increase your mood
We live in a world where mental heath issues are on the rise, and solutions all seems to look fairly similar. This app is a completely different approach
They use AR technology, which means they have some defensibility around the tech, so no random person can just copy this
I like the idea of it getting you to smile more. I have seen mental health apps help with your brain, but never had it move to the physical realm
Hearhere- A hands-free experience that delights, informs and entertains by fostering a deeper connection with the people, places and histories of the land you are traveling through.
As COVID becomes a normal way of life, I think roadtrips are going to be more common in the years to come, versus flying planes.
I can’t think of many apps or tech built specifically for roadtrips. This can also be used for work travel and even trucking
Audio as an interface is on the rise, and since podcast has become slightly commoditized, I see niche audio platforms being the next opportunity.
Biscuits - Biscuits helps more people invest in solar. Instead of panels on your roof, you can own portions of it that are hosted elsewhere.
Right now, reducing carbon emissions is one of the most important problems to solve for humanity, and the venture capital is being put to work
This platform speaks to the people who can’t put solar panels on their home, but want to take part in the solar revolution.
In a world where fin-tech is booming, this creates a new asset class out of something that is also helping the world. I think when this catches on, it could be huge.
Honorable mentions
Italic - Italic is a one-of-a-kind membership that grants access to 1000+ quality goods from the same manufacturers as top brands, at cost.
Flock - Search your Twitter followers by Job, Workplace, Location, & more
For everyone
Clubhouse Should Build Hallways, Not Stages - After I got on Clubhouse a few weeks ago, I’m noticing a behavior that could lead to a negative outcome to them.
