Laracon Online Recap

Laracon Online is now finished up and we had a great but very long day with all the talks, and we ran a little behind schedule, but thankfully everything was recorded and all ticket holders get access to watch it on-demand complete with closed captioning now that it's over.

Some of the highlights of the day include Taylor talking about Laravel 8 and some of the cool new features coming to it. The most notable is Jetpack, the brand new preset that includes login, register, forgot password, 2FA, and more. As Dries Vints points out if you attended Laracon Online you actually already used Jetstream:

Another big update was with Laravel Queue Jobs and the Laravel 8 documentation has already been updated with information on that. Of course, you want to master queues Mohamed Said launched a new book this week that covers this, and we are giving away a copy on our Instagram.

Matt Stauffer and Jose Soto launched Takeout, a Mac-based CLI tool for spinning up tiny Docker containers, one for each of your development environment dependencies. Then also launched onramp.dev, a site that gathers educational resources, organized for you to become a Laravel programmer.

Caleb Porzio showed off some new features coming to Livewire v2, Jonathan Reinink covered building modern monoliths with Inertia.js, and we had so many more great talks.
