What’s New?
A new app started showing up in my Twitter newsfeed called Sonar. It seems to be buzzing amongst the early adopters in tech, and before you ask, I haven’t gotten an invite yet. And of course, its Twitter account is private (in SF beta fashion).
I found a really cool app called Gather. It is a blend between Mario World and Zoom. As you can see by the tweet above, it’s a lot of fun and could serve as a replacement to Slack. I think this fits well with my thesis on avatars being the future. It’s worth checking out and trying for free.
All Raise made an incredible list of women in tech, known as their Speakers Bureau. If you’re looking to host a panel or event in future, refer to the list they put together to find speakers. I already emailed 20+ amazing lady bosses to come onto my podcast. No more excuses, let’s help get this industry to 50/50.
Holloway is officially a book publisher. They are working on a book now on no code and seem to be going full steam ahead with allowing authors to publish books on their platform. I think this is really interesting, as more and more people are becoming writers, what does the book publisher of the 21st century look like?

Catch, the health insurance platform for creators, gig workers, and entrepreneurs is has partnered with Oscar Health to seamlessly integrate into the Catch platform. As a heavy user of Catch (I do my tax withholding + health insurance through Catch), this is a huge deal.

Seth Levine, Partner at Foundry Group, is joining Forward Thinking City this week. He will be talking to startups and will be taking questions from residents. If you’re an investor or startup founder, this is not an event to miss. See all of our other events this week, and become a resident to get access to this event, plus dozens of other monthly ones.
That’s it for today’s newsletter! We are going to be experimenting with new formats for this newsletter to transition it more to an early stage startup newsletter, vs. a Forward Thinking focused one. If you have feedback, please respond and let me know :) Thanks for reading!
