AD PRO - Design’s Back-to-School Shopping
From the Source goes live every other Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET from the AD PRO Instagram account to share the new products that are catching the attention of AD market editor Madeline O’Malley and AD PRO associate editor Mel Studach. Our next live session will be September 30th. Watch last week’s episode, featuring all 10 picks, view the resource guide, and find an edited recap of our conversation below. Madeline O'Malley: By the looks of my calendar, you’d think it was fall in the design world per usual. There are so many fairs and design center events back in action right now, albeit virtually. Mel Studach: It has been a busy few weeks. We’ve been comparing notes from Shoppe Object’s virtual edition, and I still have some scouring to do through Maison & Objet’s online fair portal before it wraps this week. I was also excited to see that AD editors will be popping up at design center events What’s New What’s Next, Boston Design Market, and Discover ADAC within the coming weeks. In addition to selling fabric by the yard, they also have a variety of finished goods—pillows, table linens, throws, and such—that I’m already eyeing for the gift-giving season. Mel: I feel like every season should qualify as a gift-giving season this year! My first pick this week comes from William Gray, the brand-new design label from firm Meyer Davis, which we know and love for its portfolio of contemporary residential interiors and hospitality projects. With William Gray, they are gathering pieces they’ve custom-designed over the years and offering them in a more curated brand experience. I’m loving the collection’s Hugo armchair, which is made in collaboration with Stellar Works and offers a thoughtfully tailored take on a traditional campaign chair.
Maddie: Very impressive. Well if you’re like me and in need of a place to shelve all the new books you’ve acquired over the past few months, Soane has recently debuted a punchy-hued rattan piece to help….
