Dear reader,

Going back to school in the time of coronavirus has never been so complicated. Yet there are strong indications that it didn’t have to be this way. As schools reopen for in-person learning in the nation’s largest school system, New York City, officials here have changed plans numerous times, enraging parents and educators alike. Nationally, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is pushing school choice and educational options, but the truth is that the only choice for many parents are public schools – which need more help than ever.

No wonder some parents are taking it upon themselves to get much-needed technology and equipment to students who are going without. As always, we welcome hearing how schools everywhere are coping. Send us your photos and videos!
