In any case there's a four-letter word to cover it

Hey y’all,

It’s been a week. Nothing new on the blog. Instead, here are 10 newsletters I love to read that you might, too:

  1. Rob Walker’s The Art of Noticing is full of creative tips and inspiration. (Loved his latest, about care and attention.)

  2. Laura Olin’s newsletter is a personal list of ten things, like mine, and always has great links and art and poems. (Here’s her most recent issue.)

  3. Every week, Matt Thomas reads the Sunday New York Times so you don’t have to.

  4. Nick Cave’s The Red Hand Files is already basically one of the best texts ever written about creativity.

  5. Anne Helen Petersen writes about culture and political issues in Culture Study.

  6. Sasha Frere-Jones has long been one of my favorite music writers.

  7. Anne Trubek’s Notes from a Small Press for publishing insights and opinions.

  8. Anybody interested in education and technology should read Audrey Watters’ HEWN.

  9. I asked my wife what’s her favorite newsletter and she said it’s Sam Sifton’s newsletter for NYTimes Cooking, no competition.

  10. Alan Jacobs’ Snakes and Ladders.
Thanks for reading. This newsletter is free, but not cheap. To show your support, forward it to someone who’d like it or buy a book or some favorite goodies (I get a cut) or a t-shirt.

If you’re seeing this newsletter for the first time, you can read previous issues and subscribe here.

I’ll try to do better next week.

xoxo,

Austin
