Forbes - CDC Says Don’t Travel For Thanksgiving

In a major move, today the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised that Americans should not travel for the Thanksgiving holidays. It’s not a mandate, but the CDC did strongly urge that families either celebrate virtually this year, or take extreme precautions if it is necessary to meet in person. This comes at a time where the U.S. death toll, now more than 250,000, could jump to 300,000 by the end of the year, according to former CDC acting director Richard Besser. One thing that could help get this pandemic under control? A smooth presidential transition. Public health officials have said that the transition which is currently delayed by the Trump administration “places American lives at risk.” But at the first Covid-19 task force since July, the President did not make an appearance.
