Hello there 👋
How has your week been?
We were a bit overwhelmed by what our research turned up this week.
We found a stack of useful tools, start-up advice, and fascinating miscellany for you, and we had a hard time deciding what to leave out.
To fix that, we added a short “snack” section to the end of this letter. If you like it, please let us know and we’ll keep it as a regular feature.
Speaking of next week…
If you’re in the US and celebrating Thanksgiving, we wish you much joy and pumpkin pie. We love pie.
We’re considering moving this newsletter to a Wednesday publication instead of a Friday delivery. That’s because we now have 3 weekly newsletters (plus a podcast) going out at investing.io. It makes sense to combine this Startup Resources letter with our FoundersGrid letter because the topics and content are so similar.
What do you think? Your opinion matters to us so please share your thoughts at the bottom of the web version of this letter.
See you soon,
Juliet

🗍 No More Blank Pages
Hunter helps you find professional email addresses - including email addresses from a company name or website. Their app also lets you see where your mail goes and when it's opened.
Imagine our surprise when we discovered that they've added a brilliant collection of cold email templates this week.
Trust us, we know what it's like to stare at a blank page!

🤏 Downsize Your GIF
Our Slack channels at Startup Resources are full of GIFs. We're especially fond of animated GIFs, but they don't always appear as you'd like them to on some platforms.
We found the answer at Ezgif.com.
Ezgif's online image resizer will resize, crop, or flip animated gifs and other images with the same quality and speed as professional software. No purchase is required and you don't need to install anything.
This tool is useful when you need to reduce GIF size or fit the image into specific dimensions.
Plus, they have options to convert video to GIFs, to add text, and even to make your own GIF by combining separate image files.
🕘 Sync Your Teamwork
Range helps keep your team in sync by bringing all your work activity into one place.
Constant status updates can disrupt your day so Range addressed this with their "Check-ins" function. Adding check-ins to Slack allows you to show everyone what you're working on, to ask for help, and to share your progress.
Range also integrates with your favorite tools like Google Drive, Trello, GitHub and more.
The best part? It's completely free for teams of 10 people or less.

🥾 Bootstrapping Wisdom
When you think about Neil Patel, what comes to mind?
Most of us would say "SEO," and there's no doubt that Neil has a wealth of knowledge in that area.
What we forget is that he started out like the rest of us. With an idea and ambition.
In this article, Neil discloses that he bootstrapped his first company - Crazy Egg - to the tune of about $500,000 before getting a funding deal. They pitched the business to over 30 venture capitalists who all said no.
Neil also points out that you don't need a load of cash to start your own company.
If you'd like an insight into the lessons he learned and sound advice to apply to your own start-up, then take 5 minutes to gain a little wisdom.
😧 Delegation Issues
Delegation is tough. We often fear letting go and we aren't "trained" to delegate effectively.
If you're running a business, then delegation is an essential skill for:
Freeing up your time
Developing the skills of others on your team
Improving productivity and
Allowing you to focus on the important tasks that move the needle in your business
We enjoyed this article because it focuses on a subtle change in mindset to overcome your delegation issues.

🎲 Present Your Best Side
It's okay if you haven't heard of Joe Altieri. We hadn't either, until we came across his Shark Tank story.
To help others in their start-up journey, Joe recently outlined his key takeaways from his appearance on Shark Tank.
These include:
Passion as a powerful sales tool
Why presentation matters, and
How confidence is tricky
The best part about Joe's story is that these points are valuable for any start-up business - whether you're pitching for funding or not.
As he says:
Whether you’re presenting to 30 plus million people on national TV or a group of five potential investors, you must give it your best every time.
🏆 Nothing Is Impossible
Joel Runyon says:
I created IMPOSSIBLE to help people push their limits by taking on impossible challenges and living a good story.
Joel is an entrepreneur, blogger, and athlete who not only has his own brand, but also operates several others.
He sat down with the guys from Evergreen Profits to talk about what it’s like to be a bootstrap entrepreneur, the benefit of collaborating with others, and how to create opportunities with deal-making.
You're bound to find something of value here - even just a simple tip for your personal goal setting.
