Trump’s Deutsche Bank Loans Appear To Be In Trouble

As you’ve probably heard by now, Donald Trump’s companies have a
lot of debt—more than $1 billion, in fact. We dug into the numbers to gauge the
health of those loans. It turns out, most of them are in fine shape. One
notable exception: the money that came from Deutsche Bank. Don’t be surprised
if the relationship between Trump and his preferred lender eventually turns
sour.

Mind On Their Money

A little-known California billionaire made a $1 million donation to a “dark money” group supporting Donald Trump. The contribution, which has not been previously reported, came in January.

Joe Biden signaled support for a $908 billion coronavirus relief proposal introduced by a bipartisan group of senators and House members.

For the first time since Donald Trump was elected in 2016,
Democrats and Independents now have a more optimistic view of the economy than Republicans do. That's according to a new poll from SurveyMonkey and the New York Times, which indicated a major shift in economic sentiment along party lines after the election.

The U.K. became the first country in the world
to authorize a coronavirus vaccine for emergency use based on clinical data. The next question is when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will do the same.

Even without that authorization, U.S. Health and Human Services
Secretary Alex Azar said that the government is already facilitating the production of a massive number of doses of several Covid-19 vaccines each week, in anticipation of an emergency authorization from the FDA.

Meanwhile, President-elect Joe
Biden said another 250,000 Americans could die of coronavirus between now and January, a higher forecast than previously given by health officials as the country faces rises in new infections and hospitalizations. According to a new report from the Urban Institue—those most likely to be affected are Black, Hispanic, and Native American workers in the U.S. who are more likely than white and Asian workers to have jobs that must be done in-person and in close proximity to other employees.
