On Wednesday AD PRO’s Expert Eye virtual talk series featured a conversation between Fredrik Eklund, a star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing and the cofounder of Douglas Elliman’s Eklund Gomes division, and AD digital director David Kaufman. Eklund shared his thoughts about what design styles are most successful in the realm of luxury real estate, what interior designers should know before taking on a development project, and more. He spoke about the power of design to take a listing to new heights and noted how luxury buyers want the highest-end features. “People almost want custom-made homes,” he observed. “They don’t want it to feel like there are development finishes or corners that were cut.”

Expert Eye has been offering amazing insights to designers since we launched it just a couple of months ago. AD100 designer Pam Shamshiri showed us some of her favorite kitchens—and the details that make them so special. AD100 designer Ken Fulk revealed his tips and tricks for great lighting. And eBay’s Bradford Shellhammer opened up about where he thinks the e-commerce industry is going, and where he personally likes to shop.
