It is my pleasure to announce that today marks the unveiling of the 17th annual list of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women, the Forbes list of women around the globe who are running countries, companies and currencies.

As we know all too well, 2020 has been a hard year for everyone, and particularly for women, with the Covid-19 pandemic threatening to undo a decade's worth of gains for women's work and women's wealth. But the leaders, founders and philanthropists on the 2020 Power Women list—women like Kamala Harris, Jacinda Ardern, Melinda Gates, Mellody Hobson and more—are global models for steady and thoughtful leadership amid a crisis.
