Forbes - Protecting Our Seniors

Seniors are the most vulnerable members of society when it comes to the Covid-19 pandemic, and new data highlights their risk of severe disease and death. A report found that New York may have actually underreported nursing home deaths due to Covid-19 by as much as 50%. Seniors are vulnerable due to their age, but living conditions also don’t help. Multiple states have reported that nursing home staff are reluctant to take a Covid-19 vaccine. And in more bad news, some of the new Covid-19 vaccines may not be as effective in people over the age of 65. It’s important that we protect our seniors now more than ever, especially since more contagious variants of Covid-19 are appearing in the U.S. every day.
