Elon Musk Gained More Money Than Anyone In The World While Trump Was President

Bernie Sanders might not have looked happy at President Biden’s inauguration, but he managed to generate some money from the event. Shortly after his cross-legged pose turned into a viral meme, the senator’s campaign started selling merchandise based on the image. Sanders said Wednesday that the proceeds, a reported $1.8 million, went to charities in his home state of Vermont.

The charities weren’t the only ones to benefit financially from the inauguration. Ella Emhoff, Kamala Harris’s stepdaughter, was signed by IMG Models after her appearance at President Biden’s inauguration went viral. IMG also represents Karlie Kloss and Gisele Bündchen.

Meanwhile, inauguration day ended a disappointing four-year stretch for oil titan
Harold Hamm, a big backer of Donald Trump who happened to lose more money than anyone else in America during the Trump presidency. Low oil prices, driven by a price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia and compounded by the coronavirus pandemic, were disastrous for Hamm’s Continental Resources.

Tesla CEO
Elon Musk, on the other hand, gained $170 billion over the last four years, more than anyone else in the country. Amazon chief Jeff Bezos started the Biden era off on a high note, adding $10 billion to his fortune, which now sits at $191.5 billion. Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg also benefitted from rising tech stocks, boosting his $100.4 billion fortune by an estimated $7.9 billion.
