Sen. Cassidy, one of the seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump on Saturday, said on This Week on ABC News that he thinks “there should be a complete investigation about what happened on Jan. 6. Why was there not more law enforcement, National Guard already mobilized, what was known, who knew it, and when they knew it? All that, because that builds the basis so this never happens again in the future.”
    ...
Bipartisan support for this commission grew over the weekend. Republican Sens. Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham joined Democratic Rep. Madeleine Dean in separate calls for the commission. Republicans, including [Senator Lindsey] Graham, have questioned Pelosi's role in the security of the Capitol during the attack.

Do you think current U.S. gun control laws are adequate?

Yes - We often find that when gun violence occurs, existing gun laws were not enforced sometime in the past. More laws will not help that, but more rigorous enforcement of existing laws will. This needs to be coupled with a legitimate push for mental health reform.

No - I own guns, but fully recognize that our firearms laws are inadequate at best and negligent at worst. I bought one gun in a person to person transfer and afterwards it felt so sketchy I don't see how it is legal. With the proper training and laws I think the United States could be a lot safer and still have people with guns, but that is a long road and we need to start somewhere.

Unsure - Common sense reforms are just that, but people committing gun crimes aren't typically law-abiding citizens, and would be able to get or use guns outside the law anyway. Vast majority of gun crimes are urban gang violence, which will not be addressed in this manner.
