Software Ideas Newsletter

ISSUE #35 Preview

Hey there!

Here's what's coming out this week:

Opportunity 1: eBallot (Level 2 - Indie Hacker)

eBallot is a secure online voting platform and election software, focused primarily on helping large enterprise organizations with their board elections.

We'll dive into the history of this company, which involves a series of scandals, court cases, and prison time for the founders, and how one employee brought the company back from the brink of death!

Of course, we'll also take a look at the company present-day, analyzing why it has market demand, what some of the major competitors look like, and what opportunity a founder could take to create a down-market competitor.

Check it out!

Opportunity 2: ThankView (Level 1 - Micro-SaaS)

ThankView is a solution that was originally built as a way to send thank-yous over video after a wedding. Since then, it has completely changed its audience to be a donor engagement tool for non-profits.

ThankView exists in the larger video personalization space, which are solutions that allow you to easily create videos aimed at a single person or company.

In this opportunity we'll look at the video personalization space as a whole - automated solutions, products aimed at specific niches, and explore how these companies differ.

Then, we'll take a look at how we could build our own video personalization service, how to position it so that we can attract customers despite the competition, and also discuss two great channels for acquiring customers for this opportunity!

Check it out!

Opportunity 3: Stylitics (Level 1 - Micro-SaaS)

Stylitics is an innovative company that has developed a unique way of increasing average order value (AOV) for clothing retailers.

We'll take a close look at how their solution works, why companies are lining up to both purchase and finance Stylitics, and of course how we could take inspiration from Stylitics to develop our own micro-SaaS on the Shopify App Store!

Check it out!
You'll also get:
  • Every previous issue of the newsletter, which gets you over 105 additional opportunities for you to explore!
  • Access to the first three videos in The Foundation course, and more as they are released every week!
