The legislation introduced from Sens. Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Todd Young (R-IN) “would repeal the 1991 and 2002 authorizations that cleared the way for a prolonged military conflict in Iraq, culminating in calls from Democrats and Republicans alike to end the so-called ‘forever wars’ in the region,” Politico reported. The move comes on the heels of Biden’s military air strike in Syria on Thursday night without first seeking congressional approval.
    ...
Kaine and Young introduced similar legislation in 2019, but it languished in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The House voted last year to repeal the 2002 authorization, drawing a veto threat from Trump. Even though the 2002 law was authorized to invade Iraq, then-President Obama cited it as legal justification for action in Syria against ISIS, and the Trump administration initially cited it for strikes against Iran.
    ...
President Biden on Friday said that Iran “should view his decision to authorize U.S. airstrikes in Syria as a warning that it can expect consequences for its support of militia groups that threaten U.S. interests or personnel,” The Associated Press reported. “You can’t act with impunity. Be careful,” the president said.

Yes - Read “Utopia for Realists” by Rutger Bregman. Study after study shows that the actual will of people is to work and be productive and UBI allows them to invest in themselves in a way that they couldn’t afford to without it. [...] When we are free to make decisions with regards to money, we feel better putting it toward something to better our station. It’s different from welfare and unemployment with the restrictions and governmental red tape. It’s why diets fail people all the time. Telling people what they can and can’t eat just sets them up for failure. Welfare does the same thing.
