Dear AD PRO Community,

The staff and I pour our hearts into every issue of AD, but I must admit that I always look forward to working on April, our annual “creatives at home” issue. We get to photograph talents in their own spaces and then they open up about themselves and their lives there. It’s always very revealing. Yesterday, our cover story on the vibrant, happy home of actors Daveed Diggs and Emmy Raver-Lampman just launched online. Designed by L.A.-based Mandy Cheng, it is full of fun, joyful details that reflect the couple’s high spirits and playful approach to life.

Indeed, the many artistic souls featured this year all seem to drink from a bottomless well of ideas and invention in their work and in their homes. In-demand landscape architect Perry Guillot has invited us to see the glorious garden and playhouse he made for himself at his Hamptons residence. J.J. Martin, an American fashion designer based in Milan, writes touchingly of moving into a new flat shortly after a divorce and just days before the city’s March 2020 COVID lockdown. And the marvelous French artisan Ingrid Donat, who sculpts highly collectible furniture and lighting in bronze, shows us her exquisitely outfitted one-bedroom apartment in Paris, where even the doorknobs are her own handiwork. All of these pros are so generous for sharing their private worlds and I’m excited for you to see the entire issue.
