Biden Says Cuomo Should Resign If Probe Confirms Misconduct And Will ‘Probably Be Prosecuted’

TOPLINE

Asked by ABC News host George Stephanopoulos if his fellow Democrat should resign if the probe confirms the allegations, Biden replied, “Yes.”

KEY FACTS

Cuomo is facing public allegations from seven women ranging from unwanted comments and touching to groping, though an attorney representing one of the accusers said more have come forward privately.

Biden suggested all bets are off if the allegations are confirmed, stating Cuomo, his close political ally, will “probably end up being prosecuted too,” adding later in the interview that there “could be a criminal prosecution.”

Biden did not defend Cuomo beyond saying the investigation should run its course, but he said it “takes a lot of courage” to come forward with sexual misconduct allegations and that “the presumption should be that it’s taken seriously.”

Forbes has reached out to Cuomo’s office for comment.
