Macau’s New Resort | Switzerland’s Glacier Train | Indonesia’s Fantasy Land

If Las Vegas hotels can transport guests to New York, Paris and Venice, why shouldn’t a new Macau resort provide a bridge to London? Sands China recently opened its $2 billion celebration of the United Kingdom, the Londoner Macao, which has 650 rooms, including 14 suites designed by David Beckham. The resort also features more than 350,000 square feet of gaming, a 6,000-seat arena, and 525,000 square feet of retail space, with more than 130 stores.

Switzerland’s Glacier Express is an 8-hour, 186-mile voyage from Zermatt (and the nearby Matterhorn) to the eternally chic ski town of St. Moritz—or vice versa. Among the stunning mile-high views is that of the Rhine gorge, known to Americans as the “Swiss Grand Canyon.”

After several years of delays, Lido City, a 7,400-acre fantasy complex near Jakarta, is finally moving ahead. But the sprawling Indonesian property—which includes several luxury resorts, country clubs and residences—will apparently no longer include the Trump Organization, which has been linked to the project since 2015. For now, Lido Beach will be developed by Hary Tanoesoedibjo, who styles himself as—what else?—the Donald Trump of Indonesia.

As airline passengers continue to protest wearing masks while they fly, the petty acts of protest are escalating—to potty acts. Earlier this month, a 24-year-old Colorado man displayed his displeasure with Alaska Airlines’ mask policy, that he stood up and urinated on his seat. And the FAA is ready. For interfering with a flight crew, that passenger faces a $250,000 fine and up to 20 years in prison.
