Poem-a-Day needs just a few more readers to step in and help—will you be one?

Dear Reader,

This April, we are fortunate to have award-winning poet Jane Hirshfield as the guest editor of Poem-a-Day, which she describes as being “about expansion and discovery, surprise and reach.”

In fact, Poem-a-Day now reaches more readers—nearly 300,000 in all 50 states and around the globe—with more poems each year than any other poetry publication, both showcasing powerful new work by today’s poets and rediscovered classics by historical poets.

But Poem-a-Day only exists because devoted readers like you make it possible.

This National Poetry Month, now in its 25th year, we are raising much-needed funds to sustain and grow this one-of-a-kind free series. Please, if you can, take a moment today—April 25th, in honor of our anniversary year—to help support Poem-a-Day with a sustaining gift.

As a special offer for our readers, we commissioned a 25th anniversary National Poetry Month tote bag—our gift to you in thanks for your support.

Whether you read Poem-a-Day for inspiration, to widen your worldview, or to appreciate the ability of language to transport us—the daily practice of reading poems brings great meaning and comfort to our lives, especially during challenging times.

Thank you for reading and supporting Poem-a-Day.

Gratefully,
Jennifer Benka
Executive Director
P.S. This April, we still need to raise at least $33,881 to sustain and grow Poem-a-Day. Contributions of any amount help support Poem-a-Day. Click here to learn more about our 25th anniversary tote and etched metal bookmark, tokens of our appreciation for your support.
