Welcome to issue #049

In the last year I've come to fully understand habits. I used to think of habits as just menial things that we do on a regular basis, be it a good habit or bad habit. 

last year March I quit smoking cigarettes after being a smoker for 5 years. After I quit, only then did I only realise that habits are actually powerful things, be it good or bad. Quitting the habit was no easy feat, but the way that I approached it was not to give up a habit, bur rather change that habit of smoking to a habit of not smoking. To my surprise it actually worked. Who would have guessed. 

My next anecdotal experience of habit was when I started writing this newsletter. Now its gotten to the point where I instinctively know that no matter how my day is going, come Wednesday, it's writing time.

But how do we develop a habit like that, whereby it becomes second nature to us?

1. Start with an incredibly small habit.

2. Increase your habit in very small ways.

3. As you build, break it into chunks. 

 4. When you slip, get back on track quickly.

Learn CSS.
