Fast Company - The ‘great resignation’ is here

Have many of your coworkers given notice in the past couple of weeks? If so, you’re not alone. Welcome to the “great resignation.” This term, coined by Texas A&M University professor Anthony Klotz, describes the period of time we’re now entering, where workers exiting the uncertainty of the pandemic era decide to change things up.

“The great resignation is propelled by three forces: the changing generation, the economic crisis, and the realization people have had that they can have a different social contract, spending more time with family when they work remote and skip the commute,” Shahar Erez, CEO of the freelance talent platform Stoke, tells Fast Company

While this can be an exciting moment for individuals, the great resignation certainly presents challenges to employers left with a dwindling staff. Writer Stephanie Vozza explores how leaders should meet this moment.

Twitter's ‘unmentions’ will let you silence bullies: What you need to know
Twitter is working on a new feature that will make its users less susceptible to abuse, outrage mobs, and bullies by designing a way for users to "unmention" themselves in other people's tweets.
This news comes from Dominic Camozzi, a privacy engineer at Twitter, who showed off several early-stage mockups of the much-needed feature.
The feature would also offer notifications for @mentions by someone you don't follow—and give you the ability to stop them from @mentioning you again.
Plus, you can set the duration of up to seven days to stop certain accounts from @mentioning you. And you'll get the ability to control mass mentions, too.
