Hey there!

So today we hit a tiny milestone for the newsletter as it's the 60th issue of The Slice! Looking back, it's been a really cool ride having been able to create a tiny pocket of people that eagerly wait for each issue every week. Its a surreal feeling I'll tell you that much.

I dont really have an end goal with this newsletter, it's the process of actively building and putting it together thats the most rewarding part of The Slice for me. The byproduct of this little project of mine has been the tiny community and the friends I've made in the process. I've gained a great sense of belonging knowing that people actively read and get a value from each issue that I put out each week, which has been a big motivator for me, so I thank you!

It's still blows my mind that Is still get a lot of people asking me questions like "how do I start a newsletter", "how can I grow this SaaS", "do you think my project has potential" or "I'd love to know your thoughts on x ?"

It really flatters me that many of you value my opinion and my input. Every time I get asked these questions I try and give in depth constructive criticism to the best of my ability, but in reality, you and me both are just winging it.

Every week I spend quite a bit of time putting this newsletter together and it's been an incredibly rewarding experience for me but it has officially gotten to that stage in The Slice's life cycle where it's no longer free for me to send out this newsletter each week. I've always said that I will keep this newsletter free for you guys and I intend to keep my word on that.

They have a really awesome instagram page as well that is literally a self-help comic, and their Substack goes into more depth for each IG post they make. A really unique take within the newsletter medium thats absolutely awesome! Definitely worth checking out!

So much value in this article alone, its scary. Avy Faingezicht was an ex Apple employee and he shares his learnings and habits he picked up after working at the company for 6 years. Here are my two favourite quotes from his post.

In high school, I told people I was going to be a musician. They laughed out loud at me. I grew up with odd characters who wrote poetry. They too were laughed at. I had a friend who was a standup comedian. He tried to do it professionally. People at the bank he worked at during the day laughed at his nighttime gig.
