U.S. set to offer Covid-19 vaccine booster shots for all starting in September.
Gizmodo (Left) • Factual Grade 77% • 3 min read

[Federal health officials have] confirmed plans to recommend a third dose eight months later for those who have been fully vaccinated with either mRNA vaccine. The shots will begin being offered September 20, and it’s likely that booster shots will soon be recommended for those who have gotten the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine as well.
    ...
[The officials] cited data suggesting that these vaccines have lost some of their potency over time and that they’re not as good at preventing infections from [the Delta variant]. They argue it’s possible that some of the vaccine-provided protection against severe illness and death may start to wane soon, necessitating the need for booster doses this early.
    ...
The decision will have to be validated by the CDC and Food and Drug Administration, which will include discussions by outside experts. There isn’t unanimous agreement among experts. Some argue these shots may only provide a marginal benefit right now, since protection against the most severe outcomes appears to remain high.

Yes - NASA doesn't just send people to Mars. There are labs around the country doing amazing, foundational research that trickles into our everyday lives. For example, I worked on a project in collaboration with NASA that helped airplanes use optic flow neural algorithms to help pilots avoid last-second collisions in airspace. We should be funding science across the disciplines -- NASA included.

No - I think the government should focus on more pressing issues such as climate control and educat...
