The shooting unfolded before dawn at two adjacent homes on the same property near Lakeland, Florida. Nine hours earlier, deputies received a 911 call from the same home, and a woman reported a strange man parked near her residence who told her he was there because "God sent me here to speak with one of your daughters." Deputies responded within six minutes, but the man was nowhere to be found.
    ...
The sheriff said the same man returned to the home around 4:30 a.m. Sunday and unleashed a barrage of fatal gunfire. A sheriff's lieutenant initially tried to enter the front door, but it was barricaded. When the lieutenant went to the back of the house, a gunfight erupted.
    ...
When the shooting subsided, [the shooter], who was shot once, walked out of the home with his hands up and surrendered. [The sheriff] said [the suspect's] girlfriend told investigators he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and that he allegedly claimed he had been getting instructions from God to do certain things.

Context: Beijing says US should not comment on its policy towards Uighur Muslims if they are to cooperate on climate change.

HIGHLIGHTED COMMENTS

No - You can’t just disregard inhumane treatment of people for another policy. This looks like China saying they’ll think about climate change (historically they say they will but don’t) as long as we disregard genocide and enslavement of a whole group of people. It’s classic bad faith negotiations, and following a policy like this will lead to their continued pollution as well as US approved genocide.
