Creator raises $1m on Kickstarter in 24 hours

Artist and YouTuber Ten Hundred raised $1m in 24 hours on Kickstarter for his illustrated playing cards.

There are so many great lessons here:

* It shows the power of building an audience first to get support for future projects.
* The value of building in public to build buzz for your ideas.
* The power of crowdfunding to launch a new project or business.
* Of course, the idea of doing illustrated playing cards is also genius. I don't think he would have had the same success if it was for prints, T-shirts, or other products. Playing cards are the perfect project because there are 54 different artworks and it's a great story. Every purchaser will love explaining the cards to friends.
