Great post by Ramit Sethi on knocking down dominoes in the right order to succeed.

"The Domino Strategy is simple.

First, start so small that you can easily knock over the first domino. For example, the first step in starting a business is brainstorming the business idea. The first step to anything should be deceptively simple.

Second, put the dominoes in just the right sequence so that each small step makes the next, bigger step possible. The second step in starting a business is to find one paying customer to test if the idea has potential. Doing this can be as simple as sending an email. Once you have the first customer, next plan how to get five, etc. If you start small and level up in the right order, you'll never think to yourself, "I don't have time or money to do this."

Here is a clear blueprint to incrementally build credibility on your creator journey.

"To be able to achieve something on the harder side of the scale, you need credibility from things that come from the easier side.

If your dream is to become a book author and you haven't published any articles or done any interviews, your chance of success is slim because you don't have credibility.

But if you have an active Twitter account with 5,000 followers and have written dozens of articles on this topic, you've built up your credibility to be qualified to launch a book."

Here is a very simple yet genius idea that could work for many creators and influencers.

Emily Zugay does terrible redesigns of popular brands. Many viewers don't seem to know that it is meant to be funny because of the deadpan delivery.

Her "redesigns have been viewed over 30M+ times on TikTok & caught the attention of almost every brand."

Big Idea: Instead of doing high-quality work, what if you focused on the opposite? Thinking in extremes can be a great way to stand out. For example:

• A cooking channel with disgusting food.
• A travel influencer that doesn't go anywhere.
• A fine artist that only does stick figure images.

KP: What specific feedback has led to some significant changes?

AB: Originally, I was going to build a community. Ryan Deiss from Digital Marketer told me the Friday before launch to not sell a community only. He told me the story of the Sports Illustrated Football Phone. Back in the 80s/90s Sports Illustrated came out with a phone that looked like a football. Everyone wanted it. But you couldn’t buy it. The catch? It came for free with a subscription to Sports Illustrated. His advice clicked for me and I spent the entire weekend re-working the offer to sell the course as an annual membership. I’m so glad I did."
